Bird People Tarot Cards

I’ve always loved tarot cards and dreamed of creating my own version one day. These cards feature my bird people, which also helps soften or remove some of the overt gender binary and religious symbolism from other decks. Minor Arcana is in progress.

Economy Uncle

There is a certain type of person (IRL or WhatsApp, 🇮🇳 & 🇬🇧 ) that I like to refer to as ‘Economy Uncle/Aunty’: The only argument that really moves them is money and ‘The Economy’ – Discrimination? Protest shutdowns? Police brutality? Illegal laws? Rising fascism? AARE ya ya it’s bad BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ECONOMY? MAYBE IT’LL BE BETTER? MODI WILL BUILD ROADS! BORIS WILL REBUILD THE EMPIRE! ECONOMY ECONOMY. So I made this for them. Feel free to send to your Economy Aunty/Uncle pals. We all have at least one.

Trap

In the Arabian nights there is the story of the fishman and the Jinn, where fishes of 4 colours are magically cursed in a hidden palace lake the jinn takes the fisherman to. Each colour fish was a person of a certain religion (I forget which ones specifically but it doesn’t matter). The fisherman catches them and takes them to the king where they cry as they are cooked. I can’t remember what happens next but I was thinking of this story when I drew this.
